Hey guys, I didn't order this game but the production looks pretty top notch artwise. That said, it's a COIN on something I'm skeptical COIN would work well on, but I have an open mind about it (British, US, French, Iroquis are factions I think?). Curious to hear anyone's impressions on this when they get it and play it. Might bump this up later as well to check and see how people feel when they've had some time.

I'm still looking for a great strategic level Revolutionary War, I HATED the CDG treatment (e.g. Washington's War).

Yeah. Saw some great pics on this one. I'm having issue with COIN's tendency to severely limit me from doing anything meaningful that it often becomes a zero sum game.

The COIN games are kind of a zero-sum game, but in a good way. It's difficult and it takes some planning to put yourself in a position to do something excellent, but when a plan comes together it pays off.

What freaks me out about the COIN games is that in my experience the AI players do very well, which makes me think that that the only real thing you're doing as a human player is trying not to screw up. That if you're playing correctly/optimally those excellent things come naturally, not because you were particularly brilliant. They're most fun with the full complement of players because then the AI doesn't make me feel like I'm just playing poorly.

They're also hilariously procedural.
