Five Points? Tammany Hall?

I haven't kept my eye on any euros in a _looong_ time, but saw Five Points: Gangs of New York on the hotness list.

It seems to be compared to Tammany Hall...another game I've not heard of.

I'm all into the theme of these games. Anyone play Tammany Hall? What's the word on it? How about this new Five Points game?

Are these games rough or a bunch of jackrolling dandies?

I like Tammany Hall a lot. It's area control done El Grande style but without the broken cards. Also, the fact that you control majorities within majorities is neat. Great game

Tammany Hall is like El Grande played with a baseball bat. Very evil, very cool.

Haven't played El Grande.

The cover to Five Points looks cooler than Tammany Hall, but I just watched an unpacking video on Five Points and I gotta say I like the look of the Tammany Hall game much better. Tammany Hall actually looks to have more flavor to it with the rustic map, the immigrant flags, etc.

How well does Tammany Hall scale?

I'm buying one of these games and so far leaning towards Tammany Hall. Damn, guess I need to wait for some Five Points reviews first though...

Tammany Hall has been the best game I've played this year.

It plays just as good at 3 players as it does with 4 or 5, and it is fast and brutal. You can easily knock out several games in an evening. It's also easy to pick up and learn since you don't have too many actions to do each turn.

Bonus points if you actually slander your buddy when you play a slander action against him.

Our game group leader just purchased Five Points, but then cancelled game night this week. Hoping to play it soon. Have played Tammany Hall three times. I really like Tammany, so we'll see how Five Points compares.

I want to see how these turn out as well...such a bad ass theme, and the influence/control concepts could actually be thematic.

Shame about that movie...one of the greatest fumbles in all of cinema, apart from Butcher Bill.

I looked at Tom Vasel's videos for both games and I'm liking what I see in Tammany Hall.

I've got a copy of Tammany hall that may not see play again here due to the fact that I need multiple players. If any of you jabronis are interested then hit me up.

I'm looking for a copy for a school group. If anyone's looking to lighten their load on the cheap (or for a trade) I'm all ears.

Yeah, I just watched his Five Points video....well the first few minutes. When I saw the board setup I was pretty much done. No way does it compare to the map in Tammany Hall. I'm also really digging the old time political cartoon look of the cards in Tammany. I'm really starting to feel like there's no comparison here.

I've played Tammany Hall a couple times since I received it from the Kickstarter. It's a lot of fun. Some of my group did not like it, but if you enjoy area control and messing with people, it's awesome. And the production quality is really excellent.
