Box Art . . . It Could Be Worse
Gary Sax wrote: So... Argent sounds kind of cool. Have any of you fans reviewed it anywhere? I'd love to see a F:AT review. It'd be cool to have a university worker placement in my collection. It also looks like a bonkers crazy eurogame like Archipelago which I will never play except for like a con but oddly love that I own.
It isn't anything like Archipelago, although it is kind of bonkers crazy. At the end of the game, you score votes (ie VPs) for having the most of different stuff, like the most green spells, or the most artifacts. So you are getting these things to get the votes at the end of the game, but they also make you more powerful during the game. The game starts out as a worker placement, because you have to send your students out to fetch you the stuff you want. But by the last three rounds you are pretty bad ass yourself, with all your spells and artifacts and allies, so you are casting spells to get shit, or mess with the other players - locking them out of rooms, attacking and sending their student workers to the infirmary; generally all kinds of chaotic crazy shit.

Thanks Uba! I'm not sure if I'll play it with my group since it's aggressive, but I may pick it up anyway.
Expansion worth it?
