Clash of Cultures- GROSS OUT
www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/1919152/no-reprints-coming
I'm curious to see what they do with whomever gets it next. I'd probably buy a new reprint from someone who is not Z-man, hopefully we could see where Marcus goes with it re: expansions. I find he has very interesting ideas in his expansions. I love the way CoC rolled out with the concept that civs are defined by their technology and choices, then expanded with a halfway decent civ system. I think it made sure that the game wasn't defined by its faction asymmetry.
I wouldn't mind upgrading over the meh plastic either, but that was never such a big deal to me because I didn't get the oozy yellow.

He needs to do a new game...he's a very good designer, I'd like to see what a 2018 Christian Marcussen game looks like.

Michael Barnes wrote: Ugh, there they go "why don't you do a Kickstarter"...GREAT, let's ruin it with a bunch of tacked-on nonsense and a $200 price tag. I'd rather see this wind up with a good professional publisher- maybe even someone like Osprey that could do some really great looking illustrations for it.

Fuck, if I had a nickel every time some BGG fucktard suggested Kickstarter as the answer to the worlds problems.....
“Find a cure for cancer? Kickstarter! “
Fuck their suggestions.
The issue is that a new publisher will have to shell out for molds.

My yellow guys did have the ooze, but they sent me a new set. I might even still have the oily ones around somewhere.
Marcussen is on my auto-buy list, so I'm definitely interested in whatever he does next. I'd really prefer a new game to an excessive Kickstarter for a game that really wasn't rare (aside from the expansion, which isn't really necessary).
I remember Christian was an occasional poster here a few years back.

So... this could be a really good outcome. I'd rebuy CoC, it's one of my 2-3 favorite games. It's really interesting that I don't think any of the Sid Meier efforts have captured the PC template in physical form like CoC has... I think you could rightly argue that FFG's efforts have been much more experimental than that.
