This sounds really interesting, short RoR with a cool theme. Anyone tried it or planning on getting it? It's getting some pretty extreme +/- reaction on BGG. I do like these sorts of games as an intellectual exercise as I kind of think that they resemble a lot of the sorts of things people actually engage in in real life more accurately.

Tempted to spend all the money to preorder it since Sierra Madre games go out of print so fucking fast.

It piqued my interest, but I'm on a hiatus from buying games. At least if you can't find players, you can play it solo.

Have a look at An Infamous Traffic, which is out now, by the same designer (and assuredly on the same running gear though I'm guessing smaller) and has a very reasonable rule book to get your arms around including a pretty big sample play-through. You can PnP a copy for $13. It's quite a game. It's quite an interesting take on quite an interesting topic.

Fair warning -- if you piss off the people you're playing with they can destroy you in short order. Proceed with appropriate care when playing!

I preordered John Company, since East India Company from a historical perspective is always extra points in the desirability category for me.

SMG said it's supposed to arrive by Christmas (in an email like a week ago), so I'll let you know what I think when it comes in.

I've been meaning to build An Infamous Traffic from the PnP files, as the boxed version seems pretty expensive for what it is. Probably over the winter, when there's a lot of inside time.

It's Sierra Madre, buy now before it goes OOP, decide later if you'll keep it. Mine is on pre order.

Yeah, I just did. I can sell it if I don't want it when it goes OOP.

If nothing else these usually get VASSAL modules, I guess.

A couple of months ago I said the same thing in the "What are you buying" thread.

At the least I'll get my money back.
