I have Air Baron and I like it. I have Airlines and I don't like it. I also have a game called Distant Seas and I like it. I like the train games.
Is there such an animal as a plane game where you have loads you can deliver or passengers or whatever? Maybe something along the old PC game called Air Bucks.
I asked this question on BGG but unless it's yet another thread about ratings, it doesnt' seem to get any attention.

Thanks. That looks pretty close to what I was thinking. That led me to a geeklist with other games. Shame that most of them are out of print.
Why are railroad games so freaking popular? Everyone knows that planes are way cooler.
Basically my idea would be this:
1. You start with a C-47 (DC-3 for you heathens) and some initial cash.
2. You buy landing rights at airports and only a certain number of folks can have landing rights (Everyone could land at New York say but only one or two could land in Butte).
3. There are demand cards like the merchant marine game I have. I was thinking a split card of passengers and cargo. If you have a big enough plane you could do both.
4. YOu pay a certain amount for fuel. AS you get jets, you could pay more or less depending on your direction.
5. Speed cards. The DC-3 moves 1 unit. A 747 moves 4 (or more).
6. Maybe a fluctuating fuel market that can be affected by off game events (a die roll perhaps)?

Haven't played it so can't comment on what is transported.
I like Air Baron but am still waiting to get enough people to play it again.
And Silverton is a good train game that is a bit similar to what you want.

I thought of two more:-
Air Empire has bidding for routes.
Airways has passengers to deliver (but is a poor game).

Thanks again. Ask a question like this on that other place and get ignored. Ask a question here and get answered...
I guess I know where my gaming source is....I'll leave the other place for it's humor value because we all know they are true gamers there.
