The first listen is up on NPR...and as expected...it's awesome.

This is going to be my album of 2015. Easily.

Thing is, I need a game for it. Usually I build playlists based on games, but for this occasion I'm going to make an exception and look for a game to match.

The following come to mind first:
Minion Hunter
Dark Future
Risk 2210
Martian Rails

I'm wondering if there's something that can be new-to-me though. Anything good out there in a dystopian setting that plays well 2 player and multiplayer? I'm seriously considering that Space Hulk cardgame, but it seems odd to focus on a cardgame like this. Does it have the weight of a boardgame?

I like what I heard so far. SH:DA is a good game, though very cardy. Another cardy game I like is Shadowrun Crossfire. It's pretty abstract, mechanically, so a good soundtrack like this might help get into the setting more. Good for 2-4 players.

As that NPR article called this album a soundtrack in search of a film...I'm going to be in search of a game.

Thanks for the Shadowrun tip. Got a buddy with the game. I'm sure this album would go gangbusters with the rpg.

When you say 'cardy' does that mean a lot of modifiers and situations? What do you mean?

I mean that everything is cards. Cards, cards, cards. I never shake the feeling that I'm playing a card game when I play SH:DA. On the other hand, I find Shadowrun more of a puzzle presented through the medium of cards. Makes no sense, I know.

This is great stuff! I'm going to use it as a soundtrack for my next game of Earth Reborn.
