METAL COINS FOR SALE

After seeing. both here and on BGG, gamers sporting ten miles of wood over metal coins, I have decided to open up a side business. I'm selling metal coins that can be used in boardgames.

They come in three denominations. The ones are a sort of bronzish color, approximately .75" in diameter. On one side is a male head in profile, and the other side shows a neoclassical building. The fives are a little bigger and thicker, about .84" in diameter. They're brushed silver in color, and feature a similar (though not identical) design on the front and back. Finally, the tens are even bigger (.95"), also silver, and instead of a building on the back have an eagle, which makes them stand out. They also have nice milling around the edges.

All three coins are professionally made and have a great feel to them. They stack well, and are not so big they can't be easily held in a closed fist for blind bidding. They're hell of durable.

Prices are as follows:

100 x "1" coins = $6.00 (buy 5 packs of 100 for only $25!)
20 x "5" coins = $6.00 (again, 5 packs for $25)
10 x "10" coins = $8.00 (5 packs for $35)

These are sure to delight any fan of metal coins and will add class and luxe to all your games. I accept PayPal.

Nothing tells your friends "I'm bored with my money" more than metal coins.

Wasn't there a meltdown a few years ago over Realm Coins?

I rue the day I failed to back Realm Coins. I so wished I had them to give out as prizes and momentos at WBC and Trashfest Northeast. Ah well, life is full of missed opportunities.

Also, metal coins have their place. I wish a had a small bag of pesos and higher denominations for my Pax Porfiriana game. Only problem is to buy/convert to them you have to spend around $20 and I have no need for 8 million pesos.

I am intrigued by this and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Seriously, I never got why someone didn't just use a belt sander (40$) to deface existing currencies and use the resultant blank coins in order to make their games shinier.

Look to exchange rates - Mexican pesos are 12:1 but Jamican Dollars are 44:1 and Congolese francs are 690:1.

Also, there's lots of cheap coins out there at educational stores, eBay, Amazon etc.

It's ridiculously simple to cast coins, too. Just make Sculpey coins, make a mold of them from hydro cal or plaster, but some cheap Low-melt SnBi metal and add some copper shavings to color it, hit it with a Coleman torch or Benzomatic, and pour.

I think I'd prefer poker chips over metal coins, but I'm ususlly fine with whatever came with the game.

Yah yah..but you see..Pax Porfiriana is about Mexico so...you know...pesos are kinda thematic.

As a side note, I am selling bags of beautifully sculpted miniatures with which you can "pimp your game". They come in a variety of styles including:

- Dinosaurs (includes realistic palm tree)
- Farm Animals (fully painted!)
- WW2 soldiers (featuring "crawling guy" and "flamethrower guy")
- Sea Creatures
- Pirates/Ninjas combo pack
- Fairies/Mermaids combo pack

I am also selling assorted spaceships for FFG's popular space battles games- they double as erasers!

$100 per pack.

MB,
You sold me Omen with those tiny cardboard coins while you were sitting on these? Now I can't combine shipping for this upgrade. Bad form.

Edit: Whoops. Misread topic starter on my phone.
