Good game that goes up to 8

Thanks, all!

I think I'll look into Resistance and Codenames. I haven't played either.

Some suggestions were definitely not 'about on the level of Citadels', but they were fun to see listed. :)

Any race game like Formula D, Turfmaster or Robo Rally (although some people have a hard time visualizing their preprogrammed moves). Otherwise something like Wits & Wagers where you can even form teams is great fun.

Dixit Odyssey runs up to 12. Not my cuppa tea, but it usually is well received.

Surprised no one mentioned Ca$h and Guns. Also, I'll second Masquerade as something on par with Citadels (though I've admittedly not played Citadels).

I will 4th Shadow Hunters as that is my go-to game for large groups. Definitely an Ameritrash deduction game.

6 nimmt! or any of its various reimplementations, e.g. Category 5, Slide 5, etc. It's light, will play up to 10, and I've found that it goes over pretty well with all age groups.

Pete, how do you play poker with 8? Are you using extra suits like in the Badger Deck?

I've played at a local game for ages. There's maybe 20 people there, we break up into two tables and then combine tables when there's 10 left. Hold'em requires 2 cards per player, and 5 on the table. 5-stud requires 5 per player.

If you're thinking draw poker, nope. You'd need to shuffle the discards and that's just shitty.

PS: exploding kittens supports 4, I thought?

If you were shooting for 6 players I'd highly recommend Coup Rebellion G54. Doesn't do 8, sadly.

Cdennett nailed it too: Ca$h n' Guns is epic. Just be sure not to trigger anyone since foam guns are being pointed.

I thought you meant games that hit an "8" on the fun dial.

It's a party game, but "Say Anything" might work.

I totally forgot about Say Anything. OMG. That's a fantastic, light party game. I loved that thing.

I will second Columbob on Formula D, though I have De. 8 player races are intense. Unlike in Pitchcar where more than 4 becomes a slog.

Though two Carrom boards or a Carrom and a Crokinole board, would also serve you well.

Or Tumble Dice for that matter.

Timeline. Get a bunch of different sets if you want and mix them up.
