Lord Foul's Bane @ Fantasy Bedtime Hour

I'm not a fan of Stephen Donaldson's writing. In truth, I gave up on the whole Thomas Covenant series pretty quickly, after that awful rape scene in the first book. I don't mind antiheroes like Elric or Riddick, but they at least take responsibility for their actions.

Anyway, I just stumbled across the damn weirdest thing that I've seen on the internet in a long time...

Heatherly and Julie's Fantasy Bedtime Hour, where two chicks in bed read Lord Foul's Bane and act out some of the scenes, four pages at a time.

www.fantasybedtimehour.com/

Heatherly does the reading and paraphrasing, while Julie makes a wide range of cute and odd facial expressions, then they attempt to analyze what was just read. Julie looks a little like Phoebe Cates, and the camera loves her. Oh, and there is also a guest expert, who joins them in bed to offer his expert analysis based on having read the book 3 or 4 times.

Anyway, FBH is weird, funny and has some startling background music. Isn't it funny how the mind and the eye conspire to make choreography where there is none? Check it out.

Actually, with said rape scene, that was the first thing I thought of. I'm not so sure that Donaldson's work is really meant for this sort of thing; it's way too depressing.

I'm watching episode 3 right now... best music so far. They just played Dengue Woman Blues, by Jimmy Vaughn, from the soundtrack to From Dusk Til Dawn. Now it's Welcome to my Nightmare, by Alice Cooper.

It's dumb fun, but I like it. And let's face it, this is the closest we will ever get to a Lord Foul's Bane movie. And the effects are almost comparable with those from the first Evil Dead movie.
