TOPIC: Kingdom of Loathing

Kingdom of Loathing

Has anyone here played the Kingdom of Loathing? Essentially, it's an MMORPG that is free and played in the browser. You take on the role of a stick figure from one of six classes (like Turtle Tamer or Pastamancer). You go around questing and such. It's very addictive when you have a good community to enjoy it with.

I was into it big time several years ago, but it's tough to get back in when you don't have a big community to get into. I thought it might be something that a lot of F:ATties might enjoy. It keeps you from poopsocking by only allowing you to play so much in a day, so it isn't a ton of commitment.

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

Yeah, I was addicted to the game until earlier this year, played it about one and a half year, but I'm glad I quit. I wasted up to 6 hours a day despite the time limit. For people in the know, my character has several IsOTM, a tiny plastic sword and an invisible hamster, all acquired myself. (Name: Sighy Pog) I had a spare Uncle Crimbo's beard, but I have given that away just recently... if only I had known someone on F:AT plays the game. :/

I played the hell out of it around 2004. I even logged into my account a year or two ago. I should log in and see if it's still there. Fun game, just ran it course.

EDIT: Yep, still there....My 26 million meat savings is still there. :)

Played it when it first came out, but never really got into it. I'm surprised it's still around.

I still play it. Have been for a couple of years now. Usually only spend 15-20 minutes per day with it.

I used to play it, but I gave up when I discovered that this really isn't entirely true. Once you've built up the character skills and know-how required it's very, very easy to get tons of extra turns by making, then eating and drinking the highest-class foods and cocktails. And then you're suddenly looking at a good couple of hours a day.

I sold my character on EBay. Didn't go for as much as I'd hoped, but never regretted it.
