TOPIC: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

Re: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

This tard is still here, he's just been focussing on the single player. It was really irritating seeing my galactic readiness slowly decline (even though I have more than enough assets to destroy the final mission) so I decided to hold off on MP until I finished up with SP. I've also just discovered that Warp can set up biotic explosions. That makes SP 1000x easier as it gives adepts a way to deal with shields when comboed with Throw. And all this time (I'm a mission or two away from the end) I've been pinging shields off with overloads from my friends and my shitty assault rifle. Whatever, I'd just started using Energy Drain in SP. Hopefully this information will serve a purpose online.

Edit: Kai-Leng is the lamest villain/rival ever. I never once felt threatened by him (his stupid phantoms did though), just pity for him and his stupid mask. If they wanted my fights with him to feel epic they should've introduced him earlier in the series.

Hey Matt, the Mantis is an awesome sniper rifle so don't ignore it. That is the starting sniper rifle right? If so, buy as many Veteran packs as possible to get it to level X ASAP. You won't be disappointed. It hits hard, carries a ton of ammo (for a SR), and reloads very fast. All around goodness.

I have a question about race specific weapons; does matching the race to a weapon help at all? What I mean is, for example, would the Kishock Harpoon Gun work better with a Batarian then it would for a Geth? Or the Krysae Sniper Rifle work better for a Turian?

There is no advantage to matching race specific weapons to certain classes that I am aware of, except for the Geth. Hunter Mode gives them bonuses to Geth weapons if you build it right.

Yeah, we need to find people to play with that have the new classes if we're going to get the personal goal this weekend. I like that this is the first weekend ever where you can get TWO N7 weapons. I hope I get 2x Hurricane so I can have a lvl III Hurricane. Only good SMG.

I have a couple of the new classes if you guys need help getting the extraction on silver complete. No promises I can perform better than some random PUG though. :)

Re: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

Fallen, never use a respec, EVER. Once you have 3 you will never draw them again. It's better to draw better rares than using a respec for minimal benefit.

Yeah, I'm playing my Batarian solider now. His heavy melee takes about 4 minutes to execute which is not good. The quick one is fun. it's more fun to spec him to spam Ballistic Blades. I use my Batarian Solider as a tank who uses great weapons (Hurricane, Paladin, Widow, Reegar Carbine) and takes lots of punishment. I use ballistic blades in an emergency only.

The Krysae is insanely OP. It will be nerfed at some point. Bioware Devs are looking into it now. it airbursts so you can never miss a headshot and can triple headshot with it and such. it's so insane.

Fallen, matching weapons to races is only important if you spec the race to get better with that weapon. Obviously inflitrators are great with Snipers and Shotguns. Krogans are great with Shotguns and Heavy Pistols (both modded for melee). But overall, I don't like specing a race for a weapon class cuz it's fun to use what you want when you want.

Matt, yeah I defriended you as an accident. What's your tag again? I'll try to be more vigilent. I'm up for ME3 MP whenever you want. Green Lantern plays too.

This weekend besure to play with someone using one of the new DLC classes and finish a silver with them. It will grant you a N7 weapon (pray for the hurricane).

Re: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

After playing many hours on ME3 mutliplayer I discovered a new trick...only after reading about it on the forums. Have you guys mastered the art of the reload cancel? If not you must work on it young grasshoppers. You can cut reload times in half. To practice it I built a human soldier equipped with a Claymore shotgun, which happens to have a painfully long reload time. Here's the trick: fire claymore, immediately trigger Adrenaline Rush (instant reload), fire again, as the Claymore is reloaded hit AR again but only after hearing the click of the reload animation. This trick will interrupt the long reload animation and allow you to fire 3 shots within a matter of seconds.

This works with the Widow and Mantis SRs too BTW. I've tested them both with Salarian infiltrator and boy does it allow you to fire more often.

Re: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

How do you make it work with the Widow and Salarian Infiltrator, I'd love to know.

Instead of using Adrenaline Rush you spam Tactical Cloak to shorten the animation. I would trigger TC, fire a shot, and hit TC again once I heard the click of the reload. You don't get the extra shot that AR provides, but it does allow you to fire sniper shots much faster. The cool thing is you don't have to wait for TC or AR to cooldown to use the reload cancel. Hit the button to trigger them during the reload and you will interrupt the animation regardless of whether or not the powers are ready to use again.

Re: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

I'm not sure but I think by doing that you are making your tactical cloak cooldown longer than the reload would have taken. With a Salarian Infiltrator, i get this amazing rythmn going where I cloak and fire immediately and by the time the reload is done, the cloak is ready to go again. It's a fun rythmn

Re: Mass Effect 3 mulitplayer

Nah, it has no effect on how long the TC cooldown takes. I tested it. The benefit is the ability to fire an additional shot between cloaks, and there is supposedly a 2-3 second period after decloaking that stills buffs damage, so by using the reload cancel you should be able to increase the number of sniper shots fired from 1 to 2 before needing the cloak again.
