I'll probably autodraft, at least mostly. If I can get online, I may control the first few rounds just to avoid stupid autodraft things like when I got Peyton Manning in the second round and he clearly wasn't going to be playing that year.

That's really the big thing. run through the first handful of rounds, figure out your starters. then if you don't have "sleeper" picks you really want, let the computer pick.

just remember, the computer will draft a kicker. never draft a kicker.

doing it online is easy. ESPN puts up a list of players, by default ranked with ESPN's ranking (so Aaron Rodgers as #1 QB, Arian Foster #1 RB) and removes them from the list as they get drafted. so even if you don't know anything about players, you just look at the list...say hey, I need a QB. Philip Rivers is on the list and some schmuck thinks he is good. Okay.

Okay, so I'm not like having to search and whatever through the available player DB, which is how I thought it worked. 90 seconds isn't enough time for that. If I've got some lists of who's "da best" at each position, I can make that work.

I'll make a list of positions and "key choices" to speed things up.

if you go to your team page, there is a button for -

"Edit Pre-Draft Player Rankings"
"Edit Autopick Strategy"

you can adjust the ESPN lists prior to, if you'd like.

don't forget, you've got 90 seconds...but you've been waiting through up to 9 other people's picks. usually you've got one guy you want, with 2 or 3 others in case your guy disappears.

I have four weddings on the 25th starting mid afternoon so unless it's in the morning I'm not gonna be able to be there for any live drafting. I don't really know shit about things though so I'd be picking dudes based on really silly criteria anyway so I don't think it'd be a big loss for me haha

Friday/saturday/Sunday? early/late in the day? I prefer early in the day, but don't forget I'm on Mountain time, so 8 am on a saturday for me is what..11am for you guys?

Is there any particular thing we need to know about our draft? I've never live-drafted, so is there some kind of Tutorial on the ESPN Fantasy site?

not really. I think ESPN runs mock drafts pretty regularly, you just sign up with randoms and draft. There are alot of things you CAN do to prepare, but nothing you have to do. especially if you auto-draft you might go through ESPN's player list and either move players you think are waaaay overrated down/off your list or move a guy up.

I haven't paid even the slightest bit of attention to the preseason this year. It'll have to be complete autodraft for me. Which will make it that much sweeter when I win the championship again.
