Dukester was right, PA Gamers vs. Evil is out now in the NZ App Store. It's selling for $4.99 and I'd wager should hit us much later this evening or tomorrow.

Not sure if its a buy at $5, but I'll keep an eye on it and snap it up at $2 if the price drops.

Just FYI, "rolling updates" like this one (New Zealand first, then heading west) usually mean you're looking at about a 9 p.m. release in your time zone. Plus/minus up to an hour.

What can I say, I love Penny Arcade and I'm very weak willed. Bought it and I'm glad I did. PlayDek does it again. The game plays wonderfully and the sounds are fantastic.

Anyone else picking it up? Dunno if the multi is asynchronous or not yet, but I'd like to get some games going.

GREAT game. Fifteen times better than Dominion, and that's being generous.

Certainly.

Take Dominion. Then make a game that uses its basic ideas but is fifteen times quicker, fifteen times more fun, fifteen times less skull-crushingly dull, and with art that is 6,000 times better, and you've got Penny Arcade

No likey. Though I don't like deck building games in general.

I like this game! I love PA, and this captures things nicely. I don't quite grok the scoring yet, but it scratches the same itch as ASCENSION. Looks like multiplayer is more meaningful too, as compared to ASCENSION.

A question. There seems to be no way of zooming in to read the text on cards that are not available to purchase or play at any given moment. Since I haven't learned all the card effects yet, I'm finding this tremendously frustrating as regards planning strategy. Seems an extraordinary oversight from a company like PlayDek. Is there a way of doing it that I've missed?

Just double tap the cards and they zoom in like in ascension.

Not sure what you're asking. As QP notes, you can double-click to see any actionable card in a game. And the Main Menu has a card gallery that lets you peruse all the cards. It's actually set up exactly like ASCENSION in this regard.

The only thing I'm not liking is that when you open your deck to see what's all in there, it doesn't show you all your cards like it does in Ascension. It appears to only show you the 5 most recently purchased? I saw this because I know I've had cards that didn't show up when I pulled up my deck.

In other news I liked this for iOS so much I made a trade for the original base set and got Rumble in R'leyh for Christmas. Will be here saturday. My wife and game buddies are going to love it.
