I didn't play Crackdown or Assassin's Creed II or Fable III, and I play a lot. I think Halo 3 is totally ridiculous since that had an insane attach rate but those others aren't as obvious as you make them out to be. Still, I agree that they should be going for highly appreciated but undersold games (if we back up a generation or two, stuff like Psychonauts and stuff like that would be perfect for these types of promotions)
PS + kicks X-Boxs ass really. I don't own a PS3 but I had borrowed one for almost a year (I give it back today) and the guy I borrowed it from left me his account to download games for him. I got to play a lot of hot new titles for nothing. It was a very cool package. I'm still happy I own the X-Box though because I wouldn't have Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, The Witcher 2 and several other awesome games otherwise, plus most of my friends have an X-Box so the trading games and playing hockey on line thing would have been impossible. But if (or when) I buy the next gen console I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch to Sony.
I'm new to PS+. The FAQ states that you can keep your free game if you downloaded it before it is removed from the store. Does that mean I will lose my free games that I "bought" (went through the check out process) for free but never downloaded? By download do they mean you have to actually download the game to your hard drive or do they mean you just have to buy it at no cost at the store? If it means the latter they should change the language of the FAQ to reflect that and not use the term download. If it means the former, it means I have to download all of them and then delete most of them due to limited hard drive space which would be a major pain.
This doesn't really answer your question, but I know when I had to get my PS3 replaced I could still download stuff from PS+ even though it was no longer offered through the new PS3 - so I assume any "purchases" are attached to your account.
Black Barney wrote: What? There's a free game every two weeks, it lasts for two weeks. That's it. You grab it (takes 2 minutes) and then play it in 6 months or whenever you get around to it. My buddy Dom has missed almost every single games with gold because he's an irresponsible anarchist. I don't find it difficult to turn on the xbox, see the current free game on the home screen dashboard and immediately decide if I want to download that free title or not.
WHAT? I've been a Live member for maybe 10 years straight. There's FREE GAMES? WHAT THE FUCK?
They only started this after PS+ started theirs last year. Every two weeks, there's a new free game. Just check "Games with Gold" whenever you fire up your 360. It sounds like they're keeping it up with the One so that's good. Right now it's Gears of War for the 360. If you haven't played it yet, it's one of the top ten games for the 360. Amazing, tons of fun.
