I brought a Wii classic out here to the Middle East from the U.S., then destroyed it by accidentally plugging it into the wrong power strip. We also have a bunch of gamecube games but no controller. A new Ps3 bundle costs about $400 out here. A new model Wii sports bundle is about $200 usd, but it won't play our region-encoded games. An Xbox 360 w/Kinect/250gb is about $400 also. A PS4 bundle is about $540.
My kids want an Xbox, but I know my wife will complain about the boys camping out and playing first person shooters all day.
I sense the kids are a little bored with the Wii, and if I buy one here I can't play our old games we hauled over.
Perhaps I'll buy a used Wii classic, pay the $70 for shipping, and then soft mod it once it arrives. I can score some Gamecube knockoff controllers for $20 from China. Total cost: $160.
I buy a Wii U, and obtain a regular Wii game. Will I still be able to have access to it's downloadable content or can you only do that through a standard Wii?
Assume it's a new Wii game. Is DLC still available for Wii games and can they be downloaded on the Wii U?
