Ha ha, that Donkey Kong...I remember very clearly the day it came out...it was on a sunday, and Zayre had a sales flyer announcing that it would be available. My mom took me to go buy it and we had to wait in line. Like 30 people were there to buy Donkey Kong. I was like six or seven, so I didn't really care that it wasn't like the arcade...but it was definitely different. Like Pac-Man. Oh, those 2600 arcade ports...

But yeah, DK was like the killer app for Colecovision...which was kind of weird. I never had Colecovision, but this kid named Chris had one and I played a bunch of stuff on his. I recall Venture being the game we liked the best. And Smurfs. Intellvision was weird to me...it seemed very adult and sophisticated, maybe it was that beige and gold color scheme and that Very Serious Font they used. I never had one, but I played it in Kmart a lot.

Yeah, there was a Popeye home game...I had it for the 2600.

Glad to see so much love for Utopia... that game was ahead of its time. The hours I spent at my friend's house playing that are fond memories.

I had an Atari, but my next door neighbor had an ADAM that we could play Colecovision games on. He only had a couple of games, but one of them was very similar to what would become SimCity. I remember building roads and casinos, and I think you build other buildings instead of zoning things. Anyone remember what that was called?

I never had an IntelliVision, but the Coleco was my first console. My dad bought it in 84-85, and I remember playing Pitfall and Frantic Freddy. Frantic Freddy was my dad's favorite, so even though it was tough as nails, I've got a soft spot for it. A classic console, I regret selling it in the early 90's for chump change. I remember when I was a little I went to the Coleco Factory (used to be here, till 87) to get one of my Cabbage Patch dolls fixed... that was so cool. So Coleco for me, but based solely on nostalgia.
