What's next, Jeff? Four cheese pizza? It's like the Roman Empire all over again.

I thought this thread was going to be about lawn gnomes.

One thing Rune Age does, that seems so obvious that I can't believe it isn't prevalent in deck-builders, is add the D6. One of the things I hate about most deckbuilders is that you can math out what's in your hand and then decide precisely what you are able and not able to do. Rune Age puts a D6 in the mix. It adds some tension and luck into the mix, and it means you can't calculate out your entire turn.

I've soured a bit on deckbuilders and gotten rid of all of them, but if I had kept one it would have been Rune Age. Arctic Scavengers a very close second.

Not a fan of deckbuilders in general, but I do like the Resident Evil one. Have stuff from all the expansions mixed into a custom set up.

This is actually one of the improvements I like in Thunderstone Advance. There are a lot of cards that allow you card draws when you go into the dungeon, so if you think you can probably make up the two strength or one light source you're currently missing, go for it. Makes things less predictable and more adventure-like.

The only one I really, really like besides Marvel is Arctic Scavengers. I hear Convoy and 51st State are fun, but I have no direct experience.

Neither Convoy nor 51s are deckbuilders.

I have Arctic Scavengers and we tried it with two and there just wasn't much there. How is it played best?

So, how come Arcana is never mentioned on deckbuilder lists? Total dog?

I've got a copy of Arcana (the revised edition FFG put out). I played it one time years ago and can't remember if it's good or bad. It was a learning game and I never dove any deeper. The game does have a small group of vocal fans...I'll try to play it again soon and I'll let you know how it is.

I just picked up Cthuhlu Realms which is Star Realms 1.5 apparently. That should be getting here soon. I'll be sure to post some impressions.

Anyone have that Resident Evil deckbuilder and feel like parting with it? I've had a recent renaissance with franchise and I'd like to check it out.

AS is best with three.
