Nintendo Switch was created by Mr. White
Is this doing anything for anyone?

Guess portable gaming has never been high on my list of things to do.

That's really cool. Very smart to design it that way.

his stupid dog is mauling a toddler at 0:43 and he is totally unaware.

I'm not bringing a tablet to game in a park for crying out loud.

Yeah, the basketball part jumped out to me as well. It almost came off as if the blacktop game was out of the way so they could crowd around and play digitally. I don't know... maybe I'm being over sensitive to digital gaming becoming so pervasive. I think I'd rather play another round of 21...

That Zelda game look sweet though. I think it's still coming to the Wii U, right?

I'll probably end up with one. Zelda looks awesome. Playing with those tiny controllers looks terrible.

Any word on backwards compatibility?

It's also worth noting that no one ever touches the screen in the video. Maybe touch-screen is not present, making backwards compatibility with Wii U seem dubious.

I guess the big upside, is that they will no longer have separate home/portable development? I mean, can we now play proper Pokemon games on the big screen?

So...no 3ds after this either, but just all Switch all the time?

Yeah, hardware direction is Switch only for sure. Nintendo's mobile gaming platform is the iPhone. I could see them make a SNES Classic though, which I would buy the FUCKING SHIT OUT OF if it is a thing. I want a NES Classic, and the SNES would be even more amazing. I mean, come on:

Imagine this form factor with SUPER METROID, SUPER MARIO WORLD, LINK TO THE PAST, F-ZERO, maybe stuff like SUPER CASTLEVANIA IV, CHRONO TRIGGER, EARTHBOUND, EARTHWORM JIM, MEGA MAN X, DONKEY KONG COUNTRY... holy shit, I need to sit down.

Anyway, Switch looks neat--this is a lot like how we use the WiiU right now anyway--that dedicated screen is a huge deal in a one-TV-four-kid household.

Seems like a perfect device for me to take while traveling. The side controllers have five buttons (only one shoulder is shown) and being able to play console games on the go is ideal for me - since my home gaming time is mostly PC based. I am irked by the lack of a Classic Controller port, but the usb ports on the base could host an adapter and we still havent seen the bottom of the Joypad connector. I do love that it is cart based.

Love what I'm seeing. I haven't been this hyped for a console in a good long time.

This is pretty much what the rumors were pointing to. Looking good so far.

See a new Mario game, Mario kart, Zelda, Splatoon, Skyrim?, and 2k basketball. Assuming they all hit the launch window this thing will probably have a killer lineup by Christmas 2017 since how it's being launched in spring.

We betting on a 720p screen? Other sites seem to think the lack of touchscreen and accelerometer in the video could be just to highlight new layout so who knows what the final product will have.

I still want details on the supposed mobile Animal Crossing game. If it's not a proper Animal Crossing, I will be sad.

Can't you get a lot of these games (if not all) right now through the Wii and Wii U online stores?

That's a pretty cool piece of design and marketing. I agree that the basketball scene was a little over the top.

I do think it's neat that instead of traditional d-pads, you have four buttons on each side in it's place on each side.

I'm surprised it took us this log to turn the d-pad into a set of buttons. smart move.

Yes, but it is more plug and play than a Wii U, also, the emulation is apparently a lot better than the e-shop versions.
