I should have clarified. The styrene that the wings are made from is too thick for decent hot water bending, flame stretching, etc. Especially if you want the final product to retain the sharp character of the metal the wing vanes are supposed to represent.

..by melting the roof using a stove but it was SO hard to control once it went to melt temperature that it could've been VERY bad.

I has a car body go way wrong in the hot water bath because I was momentarily distracted. One more for the parts bin.
