I struggle with keeping myself concentrated on one project at a time in my hobby. It's a rather specific part of a more general gaming hobby. One that is deeply rooted in a two decade long miniature wargame background, since it takes a lot of time and effort to complete and army, gaming table, terrain, etc. in order to play with the full suspension of disbelief intended.

I no longer am weighed down by the amount of games that I used to own, and instead now concentrate on making each game that I do like enough to keep, be as immersive, and fun as I can. Whether it be a simple micro-pimp of replacing wooden pawns with something more thematically relevant, as you would replacing cubes in waterdeep with dndeeples. All the way to full rethemes which force an entirely new game to be produced by hand through photoshop and 3d printing.

I get as much enjoyment from this challenging creative outlet as I do actually playing the games I love. I just need to complete one project before being struck by inspiration and moving onto another game. It's tough. So many ideas streaming through my brain, but only so much time and resources available in order to accomplish each.

I love Chikara, but I don't follow it that closely. Haven't they been hibernating for a couple years? I semi follow Ring of Honor, because once or twice a year they come to town and it's more fun to know what's going on. There's a couple local groups I keep up with too. I want to go to King of Trio so bad. A few years ago they had the team of Haku, Barbarian and Warlord! I'd have loved to see them, Meng and Barbarian are some of my favourites. I like their family-friendly approach to wrestling, they do it very well and I think it's cool you can take kids to indy shows and not worry about having to explain lewd content. As a teen watching ECW with my younger brother got kind of weird sometimes.

WWE does a good job producing PPVs these days, they keep them to 6-8 matches, the pace is usually very intentional, and the important matches will have a video package prior so even if you're not up on the product, you get the pre-match story. That said the camera work and announcing are both obnoxious and have been for years.

I guess there's no more 80's wrestling event than WM3, I'd never thought about it that way. It feels so big and like such a spectacle. I was 4 when it happened so I can't recall watching it live, but I watched it repeatedly on video throughout my childhood. Gorilla and Jesse on commentary are perfect, Jesse pushing his role in Predator and his friendship with Arnold are the icing on the cake. It really led off into a super hot year. 1987's TV, Superstars and Prime Time are all VERY fun to watch.

Board gaming is my the only thing I'm into that I would qualify as a hobby, in that it's a specific leisure activity that takes a fair bit of my time. I watch TV shows, follow sports, read comics, listen to music, stuff like that. It's all kind of geeky in its focus, but nothing beyond what I consider a normal level of involvement.

I've enjoyed doing some podcasting, but mostly all I do is record the sessions with my buddies. I don't have a great ear for editing so it's not something I do on my own. Of course there's some blogging too, but I've scaled back on that the last year or so.

My pre-kids activity was theater stuff. I never got beyond just amateur stuff, but I really love being on stage acting. I also had the opportunity to direct a few amateur productions, and that was a ton of fun. My last one was the year my older son was born, and at some point I realized there were big chunks of his childhood that I was missing while I was at rehearsals. The sacrifice wasn't worth it to me.

Why the need for a firearm? You part of this crew?

Actual hobbies...let's see...

Good ones would be:
Doing great on working out at minimum 4 times a week. Getting in plenty of game time. Started reading a bit more fiction (the hardest for me to get into). Done a decent amount of traveling this past year and already have several camp reservations booked now that my youngest no longer takes midday naps. Fishing has been as good as it ever was. The whole family now enjoys it.

Needs some work:
Learning Spanish has sputtered. No excuse there as I have plenty of time on my commute I should have had these pimsleur cds done a while ago. Guitar has stalled a bit, but is going to become a big priority again. Need to get back into running. This year I've put off running, but next year's goal is to combine travel/camping/running as I book for runs in what would also appear to be cool destinations to visit and possibly camp for a weekend at.

If it's grizzlies you're worried about, leave your gun at home and bring your bear spray:

1. Shell: 2 whole chickens worth of protein a day will guarantee that unless you're 70, you're going to be gaining. Try EAS Advantedge shakes. Bad ass.

2. Michael: The only stamps worth collecting are the 205$ tax stamp spent to register a machine gun.

3. CARPENTRY & CONSTRUCTION. I've been doing roofing, flooring, tile, and converting an attic into a storage space, and now I'm about to remodel my entire downstairs. Fuck. The struggle is that I'm not entirely sure my job will exist in a year, and mamacita decided that getting a 26,000 loan was a good idea.

Man, I worked my ass off all summer to run a half-marathon. And I did it. But now, man, I just don't have the enthusiasm. I guess it's time to set a new goal.

Shit Pete, didn't you just relocate for this job?
