To be fair, Shellhead's question asked what might disqualify us from geekdom. I do see a lot of negativity here though so I'll spin things around a bit and point out a few things that I enjoy that might cost me geek cred:

Star Wars Episodes I-III (as noted earlier)
weightlifting
target practice
rational discussion
Zach Snyder
Star Trek AND Star Wars

Superhero's what are lame?

Maybe he was grasping for a word for the underwear that they wear on the outside of their costumes. Superman, for example.

Interesting angle. I too have a few things that I enjoy that might cost me my geek card:

I'm a fitness freak, too, though I don't like asking people to spot me. My current proud achievement is that I can do two sets of 10 pull-ups. Dips are harder.
When I drink, I like to dance sometimes, to anything with a good beat.
I actually kind of enjoy yardwork, though only for a couple of hours at a time.

-I've never read Lovecraft or had a stronger desire to play a game because it has something with tentacles on the cover.
-I grew up watching sports rather than sci fi shows.

So, it seems that largely one's like/dislike of various media is what defines them as a geek or not.

What may cost me my card is that I don't own a shirt with a wolf howling at the moon and I also follow sports.

You know who else didn't like Star Wars?

Hitler.

Do you really want to be like Hitler?

Omg, those shirts. I have the exact same feeling towards those shirts that I do about slaves. I don't want to be friends with people that own either of them.

This might be the best forums in about 6 months. Nice call Shellhead. I'll edit later when I 'm not at a bar drunking Ameritrash Beer and whiskey.

None of us are geeks. SF/Fantasy is mainstream as can be. LOTR, Legos, comic books are billion dollar entertainment empires. If anything makes me a "geek" it's liking boardgames enough to talk to you all about them. That's still niche and nerdy somewhat, I suppose.

I really like math and science. I am interested in the Riemann Hypothesis, M-theory, and read about them for fun.

I can describe, in a way you would probably comprehend, that there are infinitely big numbers and some of them are infinitely bigger than others.

As an annoying grammarian, I know what a gerundive is and use them--even in this sentence! Similarly, I know the difference between hyphens, en dashes, and em dashes and judge you when you use them incorrectly. (It pains me somewhat to use -- as em dash, gotta tell ya.)

Don't get me started on Comic Sans.

Comic Sans is really the best font ever. If you think about it.

I'm the reverse. Dips I can bust out without much trouble but the pull ups are a challenge. Always have been. What's the hang up with asking for a spot? Most folks are happy to help out in my experience. Then again, if you don't want to interrupt someone's rhythm I get it. Not such a concern for me anymore since I go more for reps and don't care about how much I can press or dead lift any more. I'm getting too old and don't want to tempt fate with injury. Cardio and cross-fit do a good enough job or reminding just how human and puny I really am anyway.
