Let's talk Dark Future

I have the whole series, old GW red edition (even 2 copies of Comeback Tour), plus the four newer ones, which were ok, not as great as Newman, but still some fun and disturbing stuff, even one set in Japan. American Meat featured a meat plant inside a gargantuan pig, packing meat from the living beast itself.

Route 666 – Anthology (never reprinted and pretty rare)
Route 666
Demon Download
Krokodil Tears
Comeback Tour
Ghost Dancers
Golgotha Run
American Meat
Jade Dragon
Reality Bites

His Drachenfels sequels were also worthwhile, especially Beasts in Velvet (listed third in the reprinted series, but really the second chronologically and in the original publication order).

I never got around to reading Anno Dracula, but it does predate Moore's League by quite a few years (published in 92, League was 99 or so).

Mr. White wrote: Also, they contracted out some authors to write a few new novels. Not sure why. Anyway, haven't read the new ones.

In the mid-2000s, Black Library was expanding with their Black Industries (RPGs, Talisman) and Black Flame (2000 AD novels, reprinted most of the old DF books as well) imprints, then tried their hand at original genre fiction with their Solaris imprint (relaunching Paul Kearney's career with the solid Ten Thousand novel and later trilogy). BI and BF folded, Solaris was sold off, BL is still going strong and making a killing with expensive premium limited edition books (mostly Horus Heresy stuff) and the digital market for short stories (it's only a couple of bucks at a time!).

Yeah, but I never understood why they produced new Dark Future novels with no game or any relevance at the time. They even rebranded the logo so there was no obvious tie to the old game. I thought it was odd.

Maybe I'll get around to reading them.

As an aside, Metalface, I think I still have Outrider hanging around here. If you want it, let me know. It's yours, freebie...Circus rules and whatnot.

Outrider? Is that one of the Dark Future cars?
