its hard to see, but it looks like the front half of the base is 'colored' that brownish yellow for scum arcs, while the rear half is the plain starfield-black, indicating forward firing arcs only.

Huh, good eye... also I see on the pilot (insert?, cardboard, thing?) that the hull is 7, but on the cards it is 6. I hope it is a 7 that thing looks like it would be thick skinned more so than a Tie Bomber.

I bet the solid lines are a normal firing arc while the dotted lines denote where the Z-95 can be deployed.

Considering the already-mentioned poor action economy of ordnance, any sort of damage boost would be welcome. I know that X-Wing isn't modeled after the PC game, but getting a missile shot at you at close range was a pants-filling moment not to be taken lightly. One of my favorite effects was when you'd have a close call from a missile strike that would wipe out all of your shields in one go. Making ordnance do double damage to shields only, and one automatic hit otherwise, would be an interesting variant.

All ships need that standard front arc to properly interact with certain upgrade cards. The 180 degree front arc is definitely for firing.

Maybe the Z-95 will deploy with the 1 template in the back?

I would like to see a cheap missile that knock off all shields for a turn. Shield tokens are removed from the card until the next combat phase, allowing high PS pilots to fly in and kill B-wings.

How does Attack Wing measure up with ordinance? I've never played but I know there's Photon Torpedoes and the like. Are they generally worth their point costs?

I played a game last night and tried out Extra Munitions. I took two bombers and a shuttle. I loaded the bombers with 3 missiles/torpedoes each, which was overkill. Two at the most would have been fine. Obviously I didn't even get to use half of the shots I had equipped, and the ones I did get off didn't really do much damage. They certainly weren't worth the points or the crappy dial of the bomber. I was not impressed.

I did play a second game with Emon (Scum Firespray) with 3 Proximity Mines that I did manage to use to great effect. I am actually looking forward to the Cluster Mines.
