Guild Ball

Guild Ball was created by edulis
A group at my local game store is going to start playing guild ball. I am in the process of assembling and painting (and mostly proxying) some Masons. It has been a few years since I last put together and painted miniatures- turns out zapagap goes bad and no longer holds things together.

Anyone else playing this? All the rules and cards are free online, looks like a pretty cool game. It's a mix between Medieval/ fantasy combat and soccer. The mechanics remind me of Warmachine with the use of influence, but on a smaller scale and with more individual, rather than squad based play. It looks like the designers tried to make the sports play as important as the combat. I am playing my first game this Saturday.

My podcast co-host recently got into this and wrote up a three article series on his progress with it. He also talked about it in our latest episode (23).

Article 1- Assembly
Article 2 - Painting
Article 3 - Thoughts after first game

Sorry to self-promote and not provide meaningful discussion, but I don't actually know anything about it.
