I thought this was supposed to be a implementation of 8th edition? Then again, not hard to convert movement and line of site rules to a grid and call it a day. Maybe they figured the amount of terrain for a traditional Necromunda game was seen as too high an entry barrier for new players?

They do show the models on more traditional terrain, so maybe you can use both? Would make it appeal to the board game market looking for an expandable Space Hulk and their traditional minis market who already have $100s in terrain.

Wonder what the price will be like.

That is surprising... at first look it certainly doesn't seem like it's a replacement for Shadow War.

Yeah, I'd read rumors the new game was going to ship with tiles to represent fighting in the tunnels and sewers of the underhive. Which I think is awesome. I've been thinking of ways to combine Necromunda and Space Hulk for a couple of years. GW has read my mind and I'm happy about it. The video does show them on the SW:A terrain, so I imagine rules for more traditional terrain will be in there as well.

War of Sigmar confirms at a demo there will be two ways to play

As well as the underhive style of play covered by the boxed set, there will also be ways to play Necromunda with the multi-level skirmishes that defined the classic version of the game. These work great on tables using the Sector Mechanicus terrain sets released earlier this year (great news for anyone who built a Shadow War Armageddon board).

Good to hear about the two ways to play. One reason I never really tried the older versions out, or Shadow War, was because of the amount of terrain required for a "proper" game.

The models are looking pretty good so far too. I'm assuming they are monopose like Blood Bowl?

I love it! I hope the price point is lower than SWA.

The models are multi part plastic kit!!! Total customization.

And the templates are back!!!

FUCKIN' ACE! Love it! What a great idea to be able to play as a straight up board game AND the classic tabletop way. I've got PLENTY of terrain for it and I'm still stoked about using the tiles. I can not wait for this.

The models are JUST FUCKING RIDICULOUS. Some of the best stuff Citadel has done. Love that they kept the 80s hardcore style.

Welp, let's pour ANOTHER one out for Shadow War, I suppose!

I see custom dice with healing/bones/breaking skull. Obviously with the return of templates, scatter dice is also making a return. Also a die is similar to the skull/shield style.

Let's guess the price point!

The closest thing to this in terms of content is Bloodbowl, which is $100. Still a little bit above my budget.

Meh. Won't be a real game until they release Delaque.

I've heard they will have all old gangs, even stuff from Outlanders. Even Spyrers.

Well, the bummer on this is that I bought stuff for Shadow War that I will never in a million years play. That's a bit of a bummer. I like the box feel with the underhive. That's more my style.

All Original gangs are to be released and they are doing the Outlanders stuff. So Spyrers are in.

I am thinking $150 on this, on par with ForgeWorld's larger games.

This is a _fantastic_ move on GW's part. All the terrain is already out there. No need to box it in here raising the price.
I plan on passing on nu-Necro, but I'm intrigued by this. A new way to play is a needed breath of fresh air and is sort of aligned with their multiple ways to play their two core games. I don't think there's been a 'specialist game' packaged like this. Very well done. I'm more intrigued by this than I am had they released the same sort of deal they did back in the mid 90s. Going with an all female side in the core box is also a very progressive move for GW.

Dudes, a scenario that has your 3d terrain including a few portals into the underground sewer on a side board. Awesome...

Now, what's the deal with AoS and tentacles, then? For a long team the leaked image, and the tentacles on the Silver Tower aelf's base, and the tentacle on that Overlord painting had us all thinking sea/cthulhu aelves. But nope, here's that tentacle as sewer dressing not an AoS piece. What does it mean?!
