Necromunda: Underhive...

I think the tentacles are a red herring. Some of them have turned up in Nurgle stuff too. I'm not really sure where that "Cthulhu Aelves" thing even came from, it's almost like a folktale in the WH community at this point or something.

As far as packing an all female gang in there...I bet the Sisters players are just steaming...bringing out a NEW all girl squad before plastic Sisters...ha!

Also, there's tentacles on the bases of the Blood Warriors from the AoS starter.

The neat thing about these Escher models (which are fantastic) is you can see the evolution/inspiration to the older model counterpart in a lot of them.

I wonder if Shadow War kill teams can fight on the board using the new rules.

Mark, it was just a summer fling. It was never going to go anywhere, just enjoy the time you had and the memories. Time to move on.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are eventually White Dwarf or fan rules for 40k stuff.

Damn though, GW needs to chill out on these releases. I've been playing some 40k with my brother a bunch recently and in the past week or so have gone from "maybe I'll expand on these tyranids" to "oh damn, this nurgle dude on a slug looks awesome" to "holy shit, Necromunda!" All these are like $100+ purchases too. Not to mention the piles of grey plastic on sprues I have piling up.

For a while last year I had my wallet mounted on a spring loaded rack like in Taxi Driver so I could have it in my hand whenever I saw the words "Games Workshop" on the Internet.

Then Miniature Market started carrying GW again. Saving me thousands of dollars. Seriously, my entire Primaris army was paid for through review work. As it shall be for Death Guard.

I feel ya, ufe20. To combat it, I engage with this new golden era of gw with horseblinders.

AoS products only.

Adding other games becomes diminishing returns for me.

When i paint a unit of BloodReavers i can use them in AoS proper, Skirmish, Hinterlands, WHQ games, and as model subs in Shadespire if need be. Lots of uses. Lots of bang for time painted.

If i buy and paint necro, those models would be used for necro. Same with bb. less useful. not as much return on the paint time.

of course cross title gaming can be done in 40k as well, but I've opted for AoS.

Some buddies (including Jeff ... sometimes) have been doing a blog and we did a little back and forth on our thoughts: wyrdstonesandtacklezones.com/2017/08/31/...tion-from-nova-open/

How do we get on GW's review list though?

I'm so making Dredd army if they add one!!! Especially if they had female Arbites. Then I paint the other gangs in shades of brown and play with Zombicide rules.

Yep. The pace and scope of releasing puts me off even getting started. I've ... undercoated 4 Silver Tower models and that's it. What's the point of buying more?

Currently poking around in small scale miniatures games. Got the Warmachine 2-player starter box. Might pick up Puppet Wars: Unstitched. The slower schedule and limited lineup feels much more appealling. And I suspect there's more game in them than there is in a lot of GW products where the focus is, and has always been, on the figures.

If you don't want to get yanked in multiple directions, steady your nerve. I played Shadespire at Gen Con, and even though Necromunda was THE game of my youth and I'm incredibly excited for it, Shadespire is my #1 anticipated game of this year. It was phenomenal.

That's excellent to hear, Charles. I've heard hype about the game and excitement regarding gameplay from those who playednit earlier this year. But without knowing their gaming tastes as we know yours, its hard to guage exactly if it may be a fit or not.

Do you think this has actual potential for competitive play as they advertise on the tin? Or more suited to casual fare? I'm very interested in this from a design perspective.
