The site before Lancaster ( Hunt Valley ) definitely hated us towards the end, basically jacking up the rates to the point where they knew we'd bail out. We were not "their customer" as they were more used to catering towards business people, since they were right near a ton of office parks. Too bad, the facility was in much nicer shape than the Host, but we are way too big size wise to go back there. The con has grown by about 50% since we left.

As a broke college kid I went to the WBC a few times back when it was in Hunt Valley. I did like how there was a light rail stop a block and a half from the hotel. Made it super easy to zip down and catch an Orioles game and/or wander around.

Yes, Hunt Valley definitely was very easy to get to, esp if you were flying.

It's not the cost of the rooms nor ease, or lack thereof, that make me anti host. It was the year before last when the A/C shit the bed. That was aweful. Then the roof in the open gaming leaked like a sieve during a rain storm. That was entirely unacceptable.

Last year was a huge improvement. I like the idea of added open gaming space. The problem is not the location of the expo center, it's splitting open gaming in two. If I'm in the theater and you are in the expo, we might not see each other or miss out on good times. If we are in the same room, we may not be playing the same game but I can stop by and say "s'up" and bum a beer off you before going back to my own game.

Of course if you are Msample you're an anti social jerk who doesn't introduce himself anyway. "Man of Mystery" indeed.

I'll be bringing 30 planes with me and I may just declare Friday after noon Wings of Glory time. I have enough materials to play 30 people in deluxe style -- 6 damage decks combined, four mats, planes, the whole nine yards. I'll even be bringing a wingman, one who knows me too well to let him play on the other team.

Need a room for for Thursday and Friday nights. I have a room down the road so it isn't a crisis, but if someone is looking to split or offload give me a buzz.

I'm usually not into Math trades but I did the WBC Math trade this year.

I Gave up: 1989 (I like it but a few others in my group have it), Stone Age (over rated Euro, why I own Stone Age I have no clue), Cutthroat Cavern and Camelot Legends (I own 2 copies of this).

I'm pick up: Attika (under rated Euro), Conflict of Heroes, Heroscape Rise of Valkyrie and Thora's Vengeance (my brother and 6 year nephew will have some fun with this).

Where have you guys set up shop? I'm due tomorrow about 2pm.

By the way, someone is saying it's in Seven Spring in 2016. Truth, or a flyer to see how the crowd reacts?

Up in the traditional open gaming in our usual corner when possible. 7 Springs is fact as far as I know. Mike Bucheri was at the meeting and reports it as truth. Sounds like a good move. Ski resort in off season with lots to do for family.

Mike said getting a bunch to rent a chalet would make it super cheap. I said if there were 15 of us in a nice chalet with a kitchen, why would we even go to the convention.
