What is this? I'm only familiar with his upcoming "Greenland" game.
I'm assuming the Duke got his Atlantic islands mixed up

this game is going on kickstarter.Dr. Mabuse wrote: Conan: Hyborian Quests
Like Superfly's Gen Con coverage, I look forward every year to Jur's Essen coverage.

-If you're checking out Mythotopia then you should also take a look at Onward to Venus also by Wallace. Colonialism meets SciFi.
-If you like Coup/The Resistance:Coup then check out Guatemala 1954 by Rikki Tahta/La Mame Games.
-There's supposed to be an updated version of Mac Gerdt's Antike coming out, with a number of rules changes.
-I think Inis sounds interesting. It's an area control and drafting game with a celtic setting.
-Abraca...what? is a Hanabi style deduction game but each player is trying to figure out what is in their own hand by attempting to cast spells.
-Fresh Fish has this weird 'con-game' cult following
-Uruk II: Die Entwicklung Geht Weiter, probably German only. A refinement on the original card based Civ game which had mixed reviews but looked interesting.

some excellent suggestions there. I'm now longlisting them into this geeklist.

I will be there for 3 days, so ample time. I won't be able to play all of them, but mostly I can get some explanation or look at the game being played.

Yeah. When going to Essen, don't refer to yourself in the third person.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question
If it was good enough for Julius Caesar, I think it is fine for me.

Sadly, some of your suggestions, like Ta-Seti, will not make it to Essen, but they are on nevertheless.
There is some stuff from Greek and Indonesian designers that I am very interested in, and I have my eyebrows raised about Londonderry: The Walled City which apparently doesn't expect people of Irish descent know what that was really about.
Not on my list but worth the mention is that Heads of State, probably the least inspired game design of its age (Thurn on Taxis with 'assassin' cards), has been re-released as Royals. Don't be fooled!
