Honestly, I don't remember who ran the demo. Since Pete knows these guys better than me, he probably knows who ran it. And I loved Wreck Age because of its simplified rules set. From what Pete is telling me, that was only the "quick start rules" and some extraneous rules are being added which is truly unfortunate. Great minis game if it stayed the way it was when the demo was run.
The quick start rules are the basic "I have a mission, you have a mission, and I'm going to do it to you missionary-style" combat rules for the most part. There's an RPG core, which can be played or ignored, but the wider version of the combat rules are very solid and tight.
Essentially it adds more weapons choices, skills and whatnot to make each character a little more "alive".
