I can see why this wasn't as popular as I thought it should be. The tiles are kind of a nightmare, and once the game starts, if it's not covered in glass, will need constant love and adjusting. I am thinking of picking up a few sets of the newer version in order to swap out the cardboard tiles.
I think we used poster putty on the back of the hexes to hold them down after we built the map. But we had the luxury of being able to keep it set up in my basement when we ran a campaign many years ago. There might have been some balance issues as well, The Undead seemed pretty powerful when we were playing. And finally if you get the chance and can track down some of the extra miniatures GW did they were pretty cool. I liked the wizards tower and the necropolis. And after that you could swap out some Warmaster figs for the banners.

they actually have that collection on the website. Pirate Ship, Empire Canon a couple bridges, couple siege engines for $36 I think, no longer metal, but actually fairly reasonable.

Yep that is them. I had forgotten about the pirate ship. I ended up using it with my Man o' War stuff.
