Box o' Music free* to a good home
In the process of excavating my office, I came across my binders of SHN & FLAC files from my days as a hellified active tape trader. I'm in the process of re-archiving most of this stuff and now have scores of these old CDRs with no home and no reason to stay here.
I'm willing to send a box load of these discs to anyone who wants 'em free to anyone in the US and/or $15 off the postage to anywhere else.
I can't break this stuff up or take custom orders. If you want them, shoot me a PM and I'll throw a box together and drop it in the mail.
What I have here are scores of live recordings--many uncirculated, almost all the best known copies in circulation as of 2006. (Some have been superceded either by legit releases or by "archives/from the vault" downloads or have since shown up on Live Music Archive for the ages; most, however, have not). Many are 1st or 2nd gen soundboards or FMs [many pre-broadcast reels, not OTA recordings]; the rest are going to be a mix of AUDs and OTA broadcasts. And of course, the wavs are packed using lossless compression formats only (lossy compression like MP3 is for suckers...)
Artists included in this first binder are:
Tool
Van Morrison
X
Patti smith
Herbie Hancock
Miles Davis
Thelonius Monk
Pink Floyd
Bob Mould
Ministry
Hot Tuna
Elvis Costello
Rev. Gary Davis
Keb Mo
Matthew Sweet
Dylan
Barenaked Ladies
Dave Alvin
Jazz Butcher
Santana
Led Zeppelin
And, of course, the great mass of "taper friendly" bands: The Grateful Dead family; Widespread Panic; Charlie Hunter; Medeski, Martin, Wood; Spearhead; and others.
I've yet to get into the other 4 binders, but I presume it's going to be more or less the same kind of artist breakdown. Somewhere in here is probably a critical mass of Dead and Panic recordings, but I previously re-archived a lot of that stuff.
Anyway, free to a good home--you just have to take a pile of them. You'll need to download a copy of "Trader's Little Helper" to deal with the SHN files (lots of ways to deal with the flac stuff, but SHN is passe these days and fewer support audio progs have built-in support)
Shoot me a PM if interested...
