Well, if the trader doesn't know the value Betrayal has these days, then definitely grab that one. It's not worth the money it's being sold for, but is a very neat game nevertheless.

Like you said, Settlers is everywhere. Nexus Ops on the other hand is about on the same footing as LNOE, good, but not super awesome.

Wait, wait. I already decided not to get Betrayal. Are you guys saying it's any good? I mean, I already have Arkham Horror, and I'm probably getting LNoE in this deal, is BaHotH still going to be any good?

Trade for BETRAYAL and then use the $200 or so you get for it on Ebay to buy whatever you want.

Betrayal is good but not great. The components are mostly great, except that they use fairly generic cardboard tokens to represent most of the monsters, with only a few boss-types getting a little artwork.

I always enjoy the first half of the game, exploring the house, but the second half is unreliably fun. You don't know which of the 50 random scenarios you will get until the midgame, and due to the particular requirements of many scenarios, you can't just switch to a better one on the spot. Some scenarios are better than others, but any scenario can be wildly imbalanced in favor of one side or the other, just due to a particular layout or the relative position of the characters at midgame. So at least 50% of the games of Betrayal that I've played were a one-sided beatdown in the second half of the game.

If somebody offered me $100 for my Betrayal, I would say no. If they offered me $200, I would say yes to the deal.
