Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
The Big Barnes Sale- Board/Video Games, some books
Down to one shelf, huh? About how many games is that? What makes the cut?
I'm very interested in Hold the Line, but my gaming dollars are spoken for for the next few months. How about a trade for an unplayed Hunting Party and Isle of Doctor Necreaux? hahahahaha

Hehe. I currently have a trade going on at TOS. Trading away Reef Encounter for Chaos in the Old World Of course I haven't actually received anything yet but it's worth the risk.Almalik was asking if I still had FUCKING REEF ENCOUNTER available.

Y: The Last Man trade graphic novel set (books 1-4)- $12
I'd think that if you hate Joss Whedon, you'd haaaaaaaaaate Brian K. Vaughan. I like Whedon, but I understand the complaints, because ye gods do I have the same complaints about Y the Last Man. Some cool ideas though.
I don't see the connection. Because they both make pop culture references?
Because Vaughan is a huge admirer of Whedon and vice versa, Runaways was practically his Buffy imitation, and because Vaughan yes, makes tons of smarmy, intrusive, and annoying pop-culture references.

I think Vaughan is more adept at writing a variety of tones. Pride of Baghdad, Runaways, Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina and Lost all have different tones and themes. If you gave me a copy of Ex Machina and Runaways and told me they were by different authors I'd believe it.
And while I like Whedon, I'd be hard to say otherwise. His giveaway is how he handles dialogue.

Just because they admire each other and have written for each others' comics I wouldn't necessarily lump them in the same boat.

I feel like Vaughan has similar giveaways *shrug* To each his own. Just about all the hot current mainstream comics writers drive me insane: Brian Michael Bendis, Geoff Johns, Mark Millar, Vaughan, Warren Ellis...

Who are your preferred comic writers then?
I also render my apologies for hijacking this thread. I think I'll start a "What COMICS are you reading?" thread.
