Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.
Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;
Two games enter! One game leaves!

I forward the motion that after this we have a 'Fortress:Ameritrash Championship' not beholden to ratings on BGG...or BGG at all for that matter.
We need to see Titan, Talisman, Car Wars, Ogre, TI:3, BattleTech, Warhammer, FoD, AH, DQ, etc. in the line-up.
I agree with this. Not that Dune and Cosmic don't belong in the final, but there were a ton of games that never even made the cut. BGG gravitates towards the more modern stuff, and that was reflected in our bracket. Dune and Cosmic are old games, but they're generally regarded as being ahead of their time, like most EON games.
I love this thread by the way. Debating the relative merits of two awesome games is always fun to me.

Dune
I'll give a nod to Cosmic because it's much easier to pull out and play regularly, but that isn't what this is about. If this was a regularity contest, Will Shatner would win with a box of All Bran.

I thought when you were talking about Rex a few weeks ago you said you've never even played Dune! Heretic!

Don't cloud my opinion with the facts!
Seriously though, if we're going to drag process of the game into this I don't see how Dune is any less Euro in structure than Cosmic. It's not as abstract, but both games are awfully streamlined.

If there were a Dune expansion for Heroscape, I would pick that instead. A little Sting/Feyd miniature running around would all kinds of awesome.

Dune = 25
Cosmic Encounter = 25
The problem is there is no ties Thunderdome. There is no victory point ties in Ameritrash games. There is no
