Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

TRON Legacy was boring in my opinion. Say what you want about Prometheus and some of the stupidity of the plot/characters, but it wasn't boring.

That scene with the medical bay appendectomy was intense. I can barely remember much of TRON Legacy.

I agree, Charlie. Tron was one of the most forgettable turds I ever saw. Outside of the flavor and concept the original didn't really thrill me much as a kid, either. Failed, dead franchise.

Prometheus I did enjoy, despite some of the frustratingly stupid things that were present.

Prometheus for sure. I have some affection for the original TRON, but this largely TRON-less TRON sequel was sometimes pretty but sterile. Both TRON movies are better to look at than to enjoy as narratives. Prometheus has its problems, and I've read and heard enough about it that I'm not sure what's actually in the movie anymore versus what was ostensibly in Scott's head, but it is visually impressive, thematically intriguing, and has "moments."

ETA: Not at all surprised to hear that the third TRON movie was officially nixed. Can't imagine going to that well a third time with the hope of different results.

I can't even remember who the lead actor in Tron Legacy was or what he even looked like. So bland. I looked him up and still don't remember. Meh.

I was totally planning on voting for Daft Punk...

Neither left much impression beyond the visuals, and I preferred the visuals in Tron, so it gets my vote.

I skipped Tron: Legacy because the original looked cheesy and there was a notable lack of re-release of the orignal around the time the sequel was in theaters. But thanks to the sloppy writing by Damon Lindelo, Prometheus also sucked. So I defy the rules and vote for the excellent Daft Punk soundtrack to Tron: Legacy. And I'm not a big fan of Daft Punk in general.

I never watched Tron Legacy but I did try to watch Prometheus and I couldn't get more than 30 minutes into it. It was just too boring for me. So I'll vote for Tron Legacy because at least it didn't waste my time.

Ok, so it's no contest. Prometheus is a FAR better movie than Tron. That should win.

I think the better question is which was more disappointing and I think the answer is STILL Prometheus even though it was decent. That movie could have been insanely good.

but it wasn't.

Wow. Great Thunderdome.

I'm going with Prometheus, but I loved Legacy.

Does one of these have to leave? They were both garbage.
