I didn't want to kill Simon's front page blog article by posting it here, so I'm just going to be lazy and give you a link:
www.superflycircus.blogspot.com/2013/04/...our-table-shine.html
I'm starting a new "category" of articles on the Circus that is aimed at miniature terrain and gaming, in general, for anyone who is interested in that stuff. Search "Miniature Gaming 101" for the pertinent articles, although at this point there's just this one.

Nice reviews! I caught the GW specialist games bug a few weeks ago while I was reading the designer diaries for the upcoming Shadowrun Sprawl Gangers game and I've been reading Necromunda and Mordheim rulebooks nonstop, visiting forums and looking at models and terrain. I'm really impressed by the look of the hexagon terrain, it's perfect looking for Necromunda. Back when we played we only at the stuff that game in the box (which was pretty awesome) but that stuff is hard to come by today and there are better alternatives out there. I'd love to buy a couple of sets and just got nuts creating an awesome underhive battleground.
I look forward to reading more of your miniatures gaming articles.

I'm also curious to know how well the hexagon, platformer and syberclicks sets integrate.

Avoid Mordheim solely because the game system pretty much requires every model to be dual-wield to survive. Necro is awesome, though.
The Platformer stuff is what I should've bought for this particular game, though..it looks more military than this, and it's got less weird pieces that are impossible to fit together.
Check out that link in the article for Warlords of the Wasteland - really good shit and it's FREE. Cost me 12$ to print and bind.
Go to www.megaminis.com/ and buy up every last bit you can. Great models for 1-4$ a pop, INCREDIBLE dungeon dressing, and they're going out of business in December. I've been talking to the owner for a while now, seeing if there's some help I can give him, but Kickstarter and 10$ super-detailed miniatures killed his market. Funny thing is that most people can't paint the details well enough to even NEED that kind of expensive miniature.
Note: The paint jobs on his site do NOT NOT NOT do justice to the quality of the miniatures. I just spent 108$ on the stuff and I'm going to be doing an article JUST on some of the miniatures sources I've run across. Probably 400 links, no bullshit.

Yeah, I've heard about the dual-wield problem in Mordheim. I know there are a number of proposed fixes, but could it be as simple as say only heroes with a WS 4+ may dual-wield? I don't think using two weapons is as easy as some game designers think it is.
But I've never played Mordheim, but I did play Necromunda and Gorkamorka. I'll check out Warlords of the Wasteland, kind of sounds like a mixture of Necro and Gorka.

Its a pretty unique system. I'm currently comparing it, Mutants and Death Ray Guns, After the Horsemen, Atomic Cafe 1957, and some others. I'll probably spin them off into a review.
