What Minis Are You Painting?
The rest of the pictures are with his uncle's friend who works for Nintendo and could totally tell you about the secret level warp in Super Mario 3.

Reminds me of the "Help me" scene from Robocop.

I have trouble even figuring out what is happening with the dragon ogre. It's clearly an overreach way beyond the abilities of the painter.

The Vallejo Metal Color paints are awesome. They go on smooth with no need to thin and their coverage is excellent. In the case of the copper, it was almost too good. I had to wash the copper three times with different matte washes to dull its color because it was pretty damned determined to be only its original red color.

Working on Sylvaneth Tree Revenants right now. Back when I first saw them, I thought they would be hard to paint. Nope. Super easy and FUN. These are the dudes that are like ghosts jumping out of tree bodies. The ghost skin was SUPER easy but the technique was unusual. You base it Celestra Gray and then wash it with Nihilakh Oxide. Then a drybrush of Praxeti White. The tree part is just Dryad Bark/Agrax/Sylvaneth Bark/a very light DB of Baneblade Brown. Some Deathworld Forest/Loren Green on the upper branched and from there it is just minor details like mushrooms and talismans. Great figures. Doing the Spite Revenants hopefully tonight, mostly the same process.
I sort of like the GW tutorials with the girl (can't think of her name) better than Duncan's...I feel like they are more down to earth.

Damn. Looking at that screaming marine makes me feel the same as he does.
I might steal this pic and make it my avatar. Then lie to everyone and say I painted it.
Looking at this more carefully, I see now that the artist is a genius. There's so much emotion contained in the strategic placement of the brush strokes on the plastic. The shading and colors add to the feel that this character might come to life at any moment. True art is never appreciated.
