Thanks! It's mostly just white primer, a little pink, and a lot of selective washing. Reiksland Fleshshade, Druichi Violet and Seraphim Sepia.

Horticulous looks spectacular...as I look over at mine still on sprues...
It is amazing how much you can pull off with washes...and how many "how'd they do that" things are just layers of wash.
I'm still in AM at the moment. I _love_ painting guardsmen. The tanks are just a delight- they paint up quick and easy and it's not hard to get a good finish. This is something different about the newer models- I feel like the painting is more time consuming and difficult, even with SMs. I did a batch of guardsmen (10) from Prime to base in just over two hours.
Speaking of more advanced...Mortarion is here. Good god. It's a lot of smaller pieces, not a whole lot of wiggle room for posing and so forth. He looks incredible, I think it may be the best sculpt GW has ever done, at least from a technical achievment perspective. It is also a $140 plastic model.
Citadel paint app is out- it's pretty good, but I wish that it linked you direct to all of Duncan's videos. The color picker is good and you can take a picture and get th color, like at Home Depot. The inline technique videos are good to have.

Yeah I have more pics, I mean to write a blog post on it, maybe I'll try to get that done tonight. My first ever completely painted warband.

Thanks for the pics and for the write-up! I like the backstory here, you didn't just make it visually cool, but there's a good explanation for it. That's the best thing I like about miniatures in general, that it is a lot like making characters in an RPG, except you have to find ways to express them visually rather than on a piece of paper. And, as it happens with RPGs, the best characters take time and effort, but they also have that uniqueness to them.
