Played some Twilight Struggle with my normal opponent. As usual, beat his ass---turn 8 USA auto victory.

I've actually identified something, besides MAYBE early war brush war printing, that I'm legitimately pissed with about the Collector's Edition---it doesn't give the two players enough red and blue cubes to mark all the countries you'll be controlling throughout the gam!

Where should I buy more TS blue and red color cubes? I really need more. The rest of the physical design makes good solid sense.

Bombur died. His fat body bloated from spider poison. The others were soon to follow. The end.

Contact GMT, I'm sure they will send you additional cubes.

Yeah, good idea, that should be simple.

To follow up on it, using cubes instead of flipping white/colored is a little bit more fiddly to deal with but is a vast improvement for cards that call for counting countries or battlegrounds. I found it much easy to count for something like Kitchen Debates or Summit with the cubes. But that's a personal thing. Some people are OUTRAGED at the change, but I found it a net improvement on playability with the downside of adding a bit of clutter to the board.

We also drank vodka made at home by one of our grad student's grandmother (she's eastern Ukrainian). We thought it was going to be nasty but it ended up being pretty good.

There it is. We thought it was like motor oil at first but it was actually berry infused and quite good. Came to us in that plastic bottle, too, which was awesome.

I found a shitload more in one of the old versions of Risk, before they converted to plastic.

I'd check out The Game Crafter if GMT doesn't send you extras.

I played Mega Civilization this weekend, and I lived to tell about it. I wrote a huge session report over on my blog for those who would like to read it.

We actually both ended up playing the game on the same day, but Legomancer was in his own parallel earth that didn't have eighteen players.
