Is anyone else with the current version thinking about getting this? Minis are tempting even though the game plays fine without them.

IIRC, KingPut and Sag were the big Hold the Line supporters around here. I was hoping to read their take on this edition.

I owned and played about half the scenarios. It's light fun, but for this weight I still prefer Manoeuvre.

I'm on the fence on the Hold Line Kickstarter. I backed it for a dollar. $75 is pretty expensive upgrade of game I already own. The minis are nice but the chunky counters from the original are easier to set up and use. On the other hand, I'm currently reading a book on George Washington and it would be nice to have the 2nd battle of Trenton, Brandywine, Bunkerhill, etc.

The turn around time with this Kickstarter should be quick.. They're probably at the proofing stage for minis, rules and landscape.

Darkest Night kickstarter is ... more expensive than I expected, mostly because of the miniatures. I can't say I blame them for going this route since it's definitely a money maker but, damn, I wish those things were an add-on pack or something. I'm perfectly fine with standees in a game like this.

Edit: The expansions do just come with standees unless stretch goals are met... Huh, it may be time to go make a bowl of popcorn.

I'm in on Hold the Line. The fucking minis got me.

I'll probably gift my current copy to the friend I play it with.

The Thunder Alley expansion re-launch has been funded. Here's the link if anyone wants in:

Stumbled across the This War of Mine Kickstarter. I've been doing OK dodging Kickstarters lately, but I'm feeling the draw on this one, as I really dig the subject matter. Not convinced how good of a Co-op this one really is, since the "leader" simply rotates throughout the turn, but could be a solid solo game.

Being designed by Michel Oracz gets my attention, as I love N. Hex and Theseus, but this looks a LOT like Dead of Winter, which was dead on arrival for me. Also, $72 unshipped for an unknown game isn't going to happen. I'm in a big co-op place right now, and this is a designer and company I trust, but I can definitely wait for retail (and real reviews) on it.

That one doesn't interest me, but anything by Oracz is a safe bet.

At this point I'm expecting that every video game worth its salt will have a board game adaptation.
