I backed the Space Race expansion KS. Played it at Essen and felt good. Expansion adds 5th player which makes it more likely to get played.

I also backed the renaissance skeletons based on Hans Holbein painting. Really awesome. The guy is very creative (see his Skull and Crown blog) and deserves the support. There will be a follow up in a few months so if you ve got any love for minis, keep an eye out for it.

Root is a fantasy warfare game, sort of, that is supposed to be coin-like.

"Root is designed by Cole Wehrle (Pax Pamir, An Infamous Traffic, and John Company) and brought to life by master illustrator Kyle Ferrin (Vast: The Crystal Caverns, Vast: The Fearsome Foes, Stitches). "

Cole did Pax Pamir.

I looked at Root a while ago, and it does look pretty cool. It's explicitly trying to put an asymmetric player powers game into something with more wide appeal than a COIN game setting like Colombia or Afghanistan.

I ended up not backing it because I just know it'll never get played at my house, (and not because of the setting). There are a lot of good designer notes over on BGG, though. If you're at all interested, go check them out.
