As a permanent storage solution, no way. The mobile thing is interesting though. Being able to slap a bunch of games in there to go to a con or game night could be cool. Not sure how it does with bigger games though.

Massive Darkness late pledge. Why? Because of the minis, I admit it. Admitting it is the first step in solving a problem, right?

I made my saving throw versus Cthulhu Wars but don't know if I can resist The Call of Glorantha

Already failed my save, but hopefully I'll get another before it closes...

The pricing model on Petersen's games is just bonkers to me. $125+$32 shipping for the base game, and that doesn't include enough stuff to play with the full 5 that the base game supports. Getting a fifth player involves getting the three expansion bundle, and that's $240+$45 shipping.

It must be super fun to have enough disposable income that those prices for a single board game are reasonable. One day, I hope to make it there.

That looks awesome but if I'm going to spend that kind of money, why wouldn't I just get more of Cthulhu Wars instead?

At least with those prices, it's easy for me to ignore.

Prey on the weak. Kickstarter does it and so do I.

I traded 4 weaksauce games plus one decent one for Cthulhu Wars. Just resign yourself to wait six months and then offer someone a bunch of meh games. Just keep offering and someone will see VARIETY and bite.

Fools and their money soon part, and BGG is a great place to grift :)

For about $20 you can essentially have the same experience with any of the Risk games:

* Move plastic around a map
* Resolve some conflicts
* Have fun with friends

Easy pass.

Not board game related but I jumped in on this music KS www.kickstarter.com/projects/katrobichau...it-cabaret-the-album - four hours still to go.

It's kind of refreshing to pledge on something that's an actual project more than a defacto pre-order for consumer goods.

I have NEVER had fun with Risk like I have with Cthulhu Wars.

As a favor I'll take all of your dreadball and blood bowl teams and you can have my copy of Battleball.

Not the same. There's no painting or creating teams in Battleball. I've listed over and over how the hobby part is half the fun. They're almost more art projects for me than games.

A BB to the much cheaper DB is an apt comparison though. $100 teams vs $20 teams.

Either way, any game can be a good time with friends. No sense making a car payment for one, IMO, but different strokes...

You could buy some plastic army men to paint then.

I get it, I own hobby quality minis. I'm just making a point.

I'm not currently backing but I'm thinking about it. The price is crazy high. Disposable income is disposable income though and I don't get trying to reduce it into something it's not. Having a contrarian or negative opinion is fine, this isn't BGG, but I do think you're point was a little crazy.

What was crazy about it? How exactly is Cthulhu Wars more 'fun' than Risk? I get it's a Cadillac game and maybe more nuanced, but fun is so subjective there's nothing crazy about what I said.

Fun can be had with any number of the gazillion available games out there....they aren't missing anything.

Don't even try to push the idea that someone not buying a high dollar Peterson game is missing out or having less fun.
