I kind of thought the same thing about Cards Against Humanity, and yet there it was, on the floor of the lower chamber.

The Oatmeal also did a Kickstarter for a "Tesla Museum" (The Oatmeal is a webcomic for people who love hearing about how Nikola Tesla invented everything and also bacon) which raised crazy money even though no one involved had any knowledge of what a museum actually does and requires. "Build a building, throw some Tesla shit in there, voila, museum!" Also, there is already a Tesla Museum but it's in some foreign country god knows where so that hardly counts.

A friend and I were talking about that last night: they were looking for $10,000 and have already made 200 times that... they're going to have some logistical nightmares when it comes time to produce, ship, and deliver. I predict pitchforks and torches from the backers in a year.

(Also, I've never heard of Oatmeal. I'm apparently even more out of touch with Internet culture than I thought.)

I don't think he is going to have any problem. This isn't his first time crowd funding, and he's published around 5 or 6 books, so he knows how to get things printed and distributed. Also he didn't design the game. It is designed by former Xbox chief design officer Elan Lee, and Xbox/Marvel game designer Shane Small. Matthew Inman did the artwork and they are leveraging his fan base to Kickstart it.

I haven't backed a kickstarter since Journey Wrath of Demons but a new miniatures Conan game is out. The gameplay looks good enough for me to bite and there are enough stretch goals unlocked to entice me to back it. The game is over 1 million raised so far and will probably close around 1.5-2 million.

To me it feels a bit like Claustrophobia for 2-5 players. The game seems to be heavily mission based where little rules will change between scenarios.

I'm not a huge fan of his art, so not planning on backing this one, personally.

In addition to Space Cadets Away Missions, I have recently backed the latest Command & Colors incarnation: The Great War.

www.kickstarter.com/projects/1992455033/the-great-war-0

This is a big turn-around for me as I once didn't have a very high opinion of the C&C games. I just found the system a little too restrictive and preferred action point systems where I could move anything I wanted on my turn. But as my gaming tastes have changed, so has my appreciation for the simplicity and accessibility of the C&C system.

This is the first Kickstarter I've backed that I've really been paying attention to the comments from backers. Wow, some people are really painful and I can easily see how a Kickstarter campaign could go off the rails trying to cater to the incessant whining and/or demands from some quarters.

Give some examples for fun!

It feels like forever since I kickstarted a game and still haven't received anything. I'm just patient.
