Because what a 2:45 runtime movie (and a sequel no less) really needs is exposition in additional short films.

I just watched all 3 Blade Runner 2049 shorts. All of them are great, and the anime one is directed by the director of Cowboy Bebop. Fantastic stuff.

Both are great, but given her preferences, definitely Get Out.

Happy Death Day was surprisingly good. I had no expectations and didn't remember the trailer (which I had seen), but I think it was pretty good, if slight, without grading on a curve.

i don't know what slight means in that context :(

but yeah that type of movie appeals to me. It has two genres, that I both like, merging into one.

Modern movie trailers are so heavy with spoilers that they are practically Cliff Notes for the movies. So for the first time in my life, I deliberately showed up a little later than the movie show time (for Blade Runner 2049), in hopes of missing the trailers. I still had to sit through two trailers, but they were very forgettable. I don't watch a lot of movies in the theater any more, but this is the first time that I felt so indifferent to the previews.

that's too bad cuz once in a while something like Logan comes along and it's pretty special when you see the trailer for the first time.

We'll be rushing to get to a movie at its start time and then we'll remember to relax -- 20 minutes late is on time now! We miss the ads and most of the trailers aren't something worth seeing.

Good point. I wasn't looking forward to Logan until I saw that amazing trailer. Perfect choice of music for it, too.

Ready Player One trailer looks pretty amazing. First big Spielberg spectacular in quite a while, and looks like it was a good choice for him.

How to make a successful modern movie trailer:

Step 1 - Choose a classic rock song.

Step 2 - Make a music video for it using movie clips.

Step 3 - Hope audience doesn't realize its the song thats good not the clips.

You skipped the optional Step 1.5 - Slow down the classic rock song into a creepy lullaby.

Oh, I hate that. So. Much. This trend must die.

Watched Train to Busan last night on Netflix. This is a South Korean zombie film, and is quite watchable. The zombie transformation is similar to 28 Days Later, in that it takes place almost immediately.
