here was an early test screener by Joe Pesci before he got real famous, I dont think this movie ever went into production, since Jaws got released and kind of stole the limelight

Oddly enough I've been watching a combo of current and classic Rom Com stuff:

Hotel Transylvania 2: Liked the first, this was just a waste of time. Decent effort to try to shove a message in, didn't work.

Harold and Maude: A 79 year old lady car thief has an affair with a suicide obsessed 20-ish boy. And hilarity ensues. It was thought provoking enough. I just didn't think it was ALL that I heard it was supposed to be.

Annie Hall: Technically brilliant, and had to be revolutionary and highly innovative for its time. Still should not have beaten out Close Encounters AND Star Wars for 1977 best picture Oscar. Plus I really don't like Woody Allen.

Trainwreck: I'm glad I saw Annie Hall right before Trainwreck, because Trainwreck seems to be an homage to Annie Hall and Woody Allen, even throwing in a Soon Yee joke. The montages, the use of narration, even the way women hold cigarettes as kind of a turn off seem to be taken straight from Annie Hall. Liked Trainwreck, a bit darker than I thought it would be.

Had to take a short flight this week and sat beside a colleague who asked me what we should watch. They had ROOM so I recommended that. An hour later, we're both sobbing like idiots. Great flick. Glad I saw it again after seeing Brooklyn. There's no doubt that Brie Larson should win the oscar

Finally saw Interstellar and it was okay, but my reservations about spending another few hours with Christopher Nolan were confirmed in full. I'm pretty much done with his movies that are all convinced they're far smarter than they actually are. And please give an Oscar to Anne Hathaway for delivering that absurd "love" speech in a way that almost convinced you it was something a person might, in some situation, say. From that point of the movie on, whenever some kind of question arose, I thought to myself, "it's because love".

^Exactly how I felt about the movie (50 pages up thread). And the "it's probably love" rote answer happened to me too for the rest of the movie.

When people asked me what the movie was about, I would say, "Love literally transcends space and time."

It would be a good break up movie. "Did you follow and understand that movie ? Ok good, I don’t feel that way about you. So if my feelings towards you can't save the planet, I better keep looking. Don't worry I'll still pay for the movie and we can still have sex if you want "

We watched The Martian again. My wife and I really enjoyed it (again). My wife is torn though, because she really wants Leonardo DiCaprio to win an Oscar, but she doesn't think his performance rates against Matt Damon's portrayal in The Martian. Too bad she doesn't agree with "make good" Oscar wins.

Did Damon get nominated ? I didn't even check. It's just so obvious Leo is going to win. Girls will go wild.

That's weird. It was on their official channel and it's been up for days. Anyway, I found another one and edited my previous post. It's got some weird border around it, probably to fool Content ID, but whatever.

Watched one of my favorite movies of all time again today at my wife's request, High Fidelity.

I could watch this movie every week. It actually improves as I get older. Every single year I get away from 25-30 I realize that I was exactly this type of asshole throughout my first marriage. My first wife sucked, but she didn't deserve to marry Rob Gordon either.
