One of the comic and games shops I used to go to had an in-shrink copy that sat on their shelf through the 1980s and 1990s. It was kind of an in joke with my friends that one day one of us was going to buy "that game". I got interested in AH stuff in the late 1990s and thought "oh shit, they have Magic Realm there". I went and bought it for I think $30. My gang came over for our Sunday night Magic thing and I had it sitting on the table. My buddy Anthony says "what is that doing here?"

We struggled with it for a while but it wasn't until Realmspeak that I really learned it, but by then I had sold that copy for like $150 because it was practicall new.

I've never actually seen a copy since.

God, I remember back when that first came out and I though $60 was paying a lot for it. Still a good game though. Just wish the specialists were easier to tell apart.

I finally got a 1st edition copy of Moongha. I waited four years to get that Kickstarter copy of it, when the holdup was the plastic pieces....and they were terrible! All I wanted was a straight reprint and I didn't get it. But I have it now.

Someone mentioned Miniature Market was blowing out the KS edition for $35.

As a graduation gift to me I bought myself Star Wars: Rebellion. I've solo'd a few rounds and I'm really excited about it.

I finally caved in, break my 20 games limit, and brought Castles of Burgundy. The guy offered a very good second hand copy for 30 USD (a new one is around 45 locally).

Yeah, laugh all you want.

Picked up the Signs of Carcosa expansion for Eldritch Horror. It's the first expansion I've bought for the game but from reading the rules it appears that you must have the other expansions to play this? I must be misreading the rules.

Also bought Automobiles after reading a positive F:ATtie review. Thinking it will be good for an upcoming neighbor dude group game night, though it looks, unbelievably, that the group might be trying out a COIN game? Where did this come from?

I put in an order with SMG for Bios Genesis and Khyber Knives. I also ordered Pax Porfiriana Collector's Edition. Mostly really interested in Eklund games right now, and sad I missed out on Barnes' copy of Greenland which would have sat nicely with my Neanderthal.

mindoddity.com has Dreadball for $28, with teams for $9 each. $10 flat rate shipping. It's tempting, but I don't know if any of those teams are worthwhile. I had a look on BGG comments but it's a minefield of opinions. It seems like the rulebooks for S2 and S3 may be needed depending on what teams you play. Ultimate might be fun to play six at a time, or might be total nonsense.

Maybe I should divert my efforts to Blood Bowl, though.

I love both BB and DB.

DB is about to have a KS for its second edition that you can read about in the following links. I wrote up a DB front page article some time back. The game plays very fast at about 1-1.5 hours, yet has all the modelling, league play, etc of BB. Also complete teams are dirt cheap. Love this game. I have about 9 teams I want to finish painting before I buy more, but this sale has me considering some others.

There's room for both DB and BB...especially at these prices. It won't hurt to buy the base game and an extra team or two...you could set up and play a 4 team league for under $50.

Thanks! I did see you asking the same kinds of questions a year ago on BGG...
I have about $100 in the cart now- DBO, Ultimate (Season 3 rules included so may as well), four additional teams and Season 2 rule book. Seems that you need the books for the teams.

It looks like some of the teams are "expansions" for teams, not complete teams in themselves. I also see on Amazon "League" versions with more figures.

I've been slowly getting back into minis in general, with building and painting Shadows of Brimstone, and I think some people will play DBO as they're old BB fans.

Update! Heh. While I was procrastinating, half of what I had in my cart went out of stock. I guess that made the decision for me.

Here's my article from last summer - fortressat.com/blogs/5417-dreadball-into-the-pit

There is some confusion on the marketing with the DB1 release. The first three seasons were sold as core sets, then a booster with alternate sculpts and some prone markers. seasons 4-6 are all in one, though less. So, getting a 'league edition' means a team from season 1-3 that is complete. these are the best bets. A 'booster' is an expansion and not enough minis for a team. DB2 will sort this all out and these minis will still be legit. The prices are fantastic.

Funny timing, but I actually wrote up a trial blog post this morning and it's about...Dreadball (to include boosters).
