Another Pathfinder campaign complete: Wrath of the Righteous + all expansions. The blistering details: Eight months of play (Jan-Aug), a handful of near deaths, one actual character death (and one mythic revival), a half dozen repeated scenarios, and - to top it off - a grind-y but successfully completed Justifiable Deicide (thanks to a strong emphasis on healing).

With the oldest leaving for college in less than a week, the four-player Pathfinder sessions that have been an obsessive habit in our home for the past three years (at the kids' request!) are coming to an end. But yeah, what a blast. If we continue the Pathfinder death march and start a Mummy's Mask campaign, we'll undoubtedly create a four-character party in my absent son's honor. We'll even allow him to step in and rejoin the fun when he visits over winter break, assuming that he gives his old man a proper hug when he returns.

I burned out on PACG after the S&S campaign - we played it to the end, but there was some major bullshitty stuff to add random difficulty (such as reshuffling a deck if you meet the boss before the last card - ugh). I don't think I'll ever play it again, but who knows, my bro has some added stuff for S&S he was telling me about. I certainly don't want to commit to another 30+ missions though.

Waiting for my copy of Evolution:Climate to arrive - love this set of games
Buying Terraforming Mars as soon as it's available in the UK - not usually a euro fan, but, this does look pretty and seems much less dry than most euros I've had inflicted on me

Picked up MTG: Arena of the Planeswalkers at Walmart on clearance for $11.00. Couldn't resist at that price. If it sucks, then I'll use the terrain platters for Heroscape.

Now, when do you think that the other two expansions will go on sale?

Ordered Captain Sonar. Realtime (or turn-based), hidden movement, teamwork, deduction, managing systems. Looks like a blast.

I really want to grab that one, but it apparently really needs 6 to 8 players. I don't see that kind of group very often.

Same. I love the idea, but super low chance of ever playing. Still might get it because you never know, and it looks super fun for those times when it does happen. Potentially might be viable as an office lunch time game too.

I just ordered this to play at work at lunchtime. We always seem to have around 8 people, this should make for a perfect one hour romp..

I found ten bucks on the ground at work on the same day that I was meeting someone to buy the old Battleline Circus Maximus. I first played this game at a SF convention in SLC, Utah with my cousin Chris, who was the guy who introduced us to everything geeky and cool. Some guy from Avalon Hill with bushy sideburns named Jim-something taught this and Titan to us.

Something happened to Chris, who was smarter and more charismatic than me or my brother. He lost a job with a big gaming company and eventually moved to Wendover, Nevada, where he spiraled downwards, working at a golf course as a groundskeeper. He didn't make it to fifty. His funeral a year ago was well attended, and the local casinos who knew him well comped rooms for many of the guests.

I guess the game lets me think about him before things went south.

Bought it pretty cheaply in an auction. Its been on my wish list forever.

Truthfully, I only wanted it because when I found out about it, I wanted to know what it looked like, as BGG didn't even have picture of it.

I'd been wanting Food Chain Magnate for a while but hadn't pulled the trigger. This week I found a used copy plus a used copy of Rum & Bones and then a (somewhat) clearance priced Furor Sanguinis - all for the about the same price as FCM new.

Oh, and then cashed in my points at the FLGS for a copy of Waste Knights. I'm done for a bit.
