You ever get one those boners that's such a raging boner that your boner literally hurts? I'm not saying I have one; I'm just saying that, if I were the type of guy to get a boner over really awesome movie trailers, that's the kind of boner I would have. I'm also trying to make this thread the first Google result for the word "boner."

It's very striking, but it's Ridley Scott in retread mode. Again. He used to be the guy that was always cutting new ground, now he's the guy that's re-releasing previous material. How many alimony checks is this guy writing each month?
When Scott is on he's top notch, and this one looks like it has his gift for the visual in full force -- likely the best photographer making movies today. But -- it's a repeat performance.

It's a repeat performance, but after 32 years, it's entirely possible he has some new things to show this time around. I have higher hopes than I did for Alien: Resurrection.

I'm not so concerned about the repeat performance as I am that a) he hasn't been on since Blade Runner and b) it looks too clean. What made Alien and Aliens (even with Cameron) work was the industrial grunge. This just reeks of "hi-tech mystery in space".

Can anyone name a good prequel ever? There has been the occasional sequel that outshone the original, and a few passable prequels, but the only prequel that is highly acclaimed is The Godfather Part 2, and that is half prequel/half sequel.
I will see it but have very low expectations.

Wasn't Indiana Jones and the One With Sean Connery a "prequel" to Raiders? Not sure. That was pretty good.
