I've only seen the Thor movie before seeing this one but it prompted me to get the other movies. I really enjoyed it.

Why does Hulk's CGI not look as good as Lord of the Rings' CGI from 10 years ago? The CGI in LotR is more 'believable' next to the live action characters, whereas the Hulk still looks like a video game character superimposed in a live action movie. Did LotR have a better CGI studio?

Also wanted to like Van Helsing, but the monster fights reminded me of the video game Primal Rage.

I'd like to know if they considered doing a live action Hulk, but scaling him up.

Ha -- I tore all the skin off my forearm the first time I shot a compound bow (back in 8th grade).

As an aside, a surprisingly good archer is Bo Jackson.

Because Bo Knows, uh...Bows.

Say, where is Bo Further in all this madness? He should definitely have an opinion here.

Yup. It rules. I put the Nolan Bat-flicks in a class all their own, so as far at The Avengers goes, it's up there in the ranks of the all time great superhero flicks. Spider-Man 2 is the reigning champ in my book, and I'm not sure if this outs it, but it might. Going to need to see it again.

I had no idea that Spider man 2 was held up to such greatness. I dont remember liking it at the time... and thinking Rami was an odd choice.

I loved it. I thought Ruffalo would be a placeholder but I ended up preferring his melancholy to Ed Norton's full-on sad sack routine, and it was fun to see him and Robert Downey Jr. hanging out and working on their science projects.

It was also incredibly refreshing to see coherently staged and edited action scenes that I could enjoy without having to construct them in my head out of a mess of quick cuts and shaky-cam footage.

The movie even made Hawkeye seem cool, so much so that my 7 year-old wants a Hawkeye action figure. That's a minor miracle in and of itself.

I hate Captain America's new uniform, though. The fabric looks cheap (and permeable to small arms fire) and it's a definite downgrade from the blue leather one from the Captain America movie.

As for Spider Man 2, I liked it when it came out but I don't think it's aged well. It's so serious and tragic and heartfelt that it really starts to grate upon repeat viewings.
